Map, pixels, and claim rules
The map is made of pixels. Understanding coordinates, block types, and claim rules is enough to know what a position can do and who approves it.
Three layers
- Pixel: the smallest unit of the universe, owned by one user and occupying one grid coordinate
- Region: an extent managed by its owner that determines who can place blocks; regions nest up to four levels
- World: the space entered from a pixel, freely buildable, and itself divisible into regions
Land without a region follows the world default. The default openness is set by the world owner, can be changed at any time, and applies to new claims.
What a pixel can carry
| Type | Content | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Colour block | A single base colour | The lightest placeholder, useful for layout and zoning |
| Content block | External article or video link | Shows a title and cover; opens details on click |
| Sub-world | A nested region | Divides the block into a further grid |
| 3D world | An enterable 3D space | Supports overview and first-person browsing |
| App | A published feature entry | Configured by the platform; not creatable by users |
Claim policies
Each region has its own claim policy and inherits the world rule when unset. The four policies decide what happens when a visitor clicks an empty pixel:
- Inherit: follow the world default
- Open: the block is placed on click
- Request: a pending application is created for the region owner to approve or reject
- Reserved: only the owner and invited users can place blocks
World rules can also cap claims per user, set a minimum point balance, or mark specific coordinates as reserved. Reserved positions are shown as unclaimable on the map.
Three visibility states
| State | Map and lists | Body | Typical use |
|---|---|---|---|
| Public | Fully shown | Readable by everyone | The default |
| Gated | Title and cover shown | Unlocked with this world’s points, permanently | Content that needs a filter |
| Private | Not listed | Visible to the author only | Drafts and internal content |
Gated area is quota-limited: within one world, gated blocks may not exceed 15% of the total area. A block that has produced unlocks cannot be switched directly to private.
